Pride in London has a renewed sense of purpose to highlight the challenges still facing the LGBT+ community today despite progress. We are run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity and are drawn from all walks of life. Pride aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow all of our community to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing. 

Around 250 people volunteer year-round to help us deliver what has become a world-class Pride. It is our intention for Pride in London to best represent all parts of our community and we continue to actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, particularly women, People of Colour and those from the trans and non-binary communities. The role 

Strategic Partnerships is the team responsible for Pride in London’s income generation in relation to all corporate partnerships deals.  The team as a collective helps to generate new business, negotiate contracts and then manage that relationship throughout its tenure.  A lot of the partnership’s benefits relate specifically to the day itself but additional activation throughout the year is key to the activation’s success. Specific activation within each partnership can include but isn’t limited to, on the day branding, social media posts, logo/ website management, marketing campaign management and parade/ event logistics.  Other events and partnerships such as the Gala, Pride run, and Pride in the City form a much bigger portfolio that the team also oversees.  We make sure all companies go through a rigorous ethical process to ensure the partnership activation is requested with the right intentions.

The kind of activities you will be doing day to day include:

  • Overseeing the activation management of all allocated partnerships agreements within your own personal portfolio  
  • Attend handover meetings with the necessary New Business Manager to ensure an accurate account and all documents pertaining to the signed agreement is detailed to yourself to be able to activate the details accordingly.
  • Attend weekly meetings to ensure you have completed all activation requirements and to ask necessary questions to your head of Account Management and team members to ensure actions can be completed in a timely manner and you articulate the correct information to your partners
  • Driving effective communications to make sure these timelines are hit both from the client and PIL perspective to make sure the contractual activation can complete for every partner i.e. application to the parade, logos submitted, contacts for events confirmed, content for press release and website design are submitted
  • Working with the Head of Account Management and Partnerships Administrator to make sure you complete your administrative responsibilities in a timely manner to ensure a full account of the activation is logged as per the contract, should there be any disputes
  • Being the first point of contact for any partners within your portfolio should they experience a problem or have a query about their activation
  • Taking the lead on appropriate levels of catch up meetings with each partner to ensure a consistent line of communication and ways of working are established to make sure they feel supported throughout their partnership
  • Leading feedback sessions at the end of each partnership to detail out potential changes for the future and report back to the wider team
  • Working closely with the Head of Account Management to ensure efficient ways of working are adopted and consistent implemented across the team.
  • Attend various team and client events throughout the year to build relationships and promote PiL

Skills and experience needed for this role 

● Substantial experience in corporate partnerships and/ or client relationships within a
professional organisation
● Experience of dealing with mid-large corporate clients
● Able to build effective relationships with corporate employees whilst keeping the PiL
organisational strategic aims at the forefront of everything you do
● Good team player with exceptional communication skills
● Available at evenings and weekends to run and/or attend team meetings and client
events
● May need to be able to take calls in the middle of the working day to speak to partners on an ad-hoc basis

Time committment required - 4-6hrs per week
