Your Pride In London 

Pride in London means many things to many people, it belongs to our community and it belongs to you; come and join the conversation!

Pride in London has a renewed sense of purpose to highlight the challenges still facing the LGBT+ community today despite progress. We are run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity and are drawn from all walks of life. Pride aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow all of our community to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing. 

Around 250 people volunteer year-round to help us deliver what has become a world-class Pride. It is our intention for Pride in London to best represent all parts of our community and we continue to actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, particularly women, People of Colour and those from the trans and non-binary communities. Your new team:

Strategic Partnerships is the team responsible for Pride in London’s income generation in relation to all corporate partnership’s deals. 

The team as a collective help to generate new business, negotiate contracts and then manage that relationship throughout its tenure. A lot of the partnership’s benefits relate specifically to the day itself but additional activation throughout the year is key to the activation’s success. 

Specific activation within each partnership can include but isn’t limited to, on the day branding, social media posts, logo / website management, marketing campaign management and parade / event logistics. 

Other events and partnerships such as the Gala, Pride run, and Pride in the City form a much bigger portfolio that the team also oversee. We make sure all companies go through a rigorous ethnical process to ensure the partnership activation is requested with the right intentions. 

Your new volunteer role:

The kind of activities you will be doing day to day include:

  • Overseeing the logistics and administration, driving best practice across both the Account Management, New Business and Pride in the City Strategic Partnership teams.
  • Researching and implementing a new IT system to be set up across the SP team to allow easy monitoring of new and existing partnership communications, asset agreements and next steps.
  • Working with the Director and Deputy Director of SP and other Heads of Department to maintain updated collateral to assist with the marketing of the PiL Strategic Partnership offering to potential parties i.e. presentation materials, fact sheets, event information
  • Being responsible for innovation to increase the efficiency, accuracy and storage of all assets, processes and communications with special attention in the first instance in regard to an appropriate technology system and communication platform.
  • Making sure all SP volunteers receive the best possible training and collateral to help fulfil their roles. This includes producing and maintaining updated collateral with the assistance of other PiL teams to ensure the most accurate information is passed onto our team and with that, their respective partnerships. This especially, is in relation to the Operations (parade and stages), Fundraising (Gala and Pride run), Marketing and Communications teams.
  • Creating and maintaining these PiL team relationships to ensure effective ways of working across the teams are introduced and maintained.
  • Attend weekly meetings where necessary to ensure the relevant actions are being undertaken as above
  • Ensure timelines are hit both from the client and PIL perspective to make sure the activation can be as successful to the partner as possible (as highlighted above). This can include but not limited to; contact details, logo in various sizes and formats, website links, website and social media content, new business detail and historical communication, event planning and logistics
  • Working with the Account Partnerships Executive / Asset Manager to make sure all assets (highlighted above) are stored and utilised appropriately to ensure a smooth activation as per the contract.
  • Being the first point of contact for any escalation from any other PiL teams, and attending PiL department meetings to ensure effective communication and ways of working are adopted and consistently implemented across all teams.
  • Working closely with the Head of Account Management,Head of New Business and Head of Pride in the City to ensure effective ways of working are adopted and consistently implemented across all SP teams.
  • Attend various team and client events throughout the year to build relationships and promote PiL

Who you are:

  • Must have experience within project management, system implementation, collateral design and archiving ideally
  • Must have the business commercial acumen to drive forward the desired projects to their fruition
  • Must have managed a team of +2 desired
  • Must have worked to build relationships with cross sectional teams to achieve strategic goals
  • Must be a good team player with exceptional communication skills
  • Must have evening and weekend availability to run and/or attend team meetings
  • Experience using any sales based technical systems, essential

Our volunteers are driven and passionate about what they do. Putting on one of London's largest one-day events requires dedication and perseverance. 

Although a lot of our work is completed remotely, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet with your team and others throughout the year to not only plan what's ahead but to socialise too.
