Following 2022’s 50th anniversary, Pride in London is building out its volunteer team as we look forward to our next 50 years.
Pride in London has a renewed sense of purpose to highlight the challenges still facing the LGBT+ community today despite our community’s progress. We are run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity and are drawn from all walks of life. Pride aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow all of our community to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing.
Around 150 people volunteer year-round to help us deliver what has become a world-class Pride. It is our intention for Pride in London to best represent all parts of our community.
We continue to actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, such as women, people of colour, marginalised or minority communities and faith groups, and those from the trans and non-binary communities.
Your role
We are looking for a Head of Finance & Governance to join our Finance team.
This is a varied and exciting role working closely with the Director & Deputy Director of Finance, you will play a key part in the effectiveness and efficiency of Pride in London's financial management (includes controls, financial accounting, taxation, management accounting, credit control, cash management, pay roll and audit) and organisational governance.
What you’ll bring to the role
A qualified or part qualified (by certificate and/or experience) accountant. You’ll have practical experience of financial management principles, with understanding of UK reporting standards as they apply to cic's and/or charities.
An understanding of cic and/or charity governance structures, having practical experience in at least one of grant giving, fundraising, or Board governance.
A team leader, you will have experience of managing and developing high performing teams.
Strong communication skills with the ability to convey often complex, financial information using various methods to meet the needs of a range of audiences.
A senior project manager with an understanding and preferably experience of working with agile project management methodologies and in creating and managing project documentation.
A can-do positive attitude and flexible, solution-focussed approach. You have the ability to drive plans forward to achieve results.
Capable of owning multiple tasks and seeing them through to their conclusion, meeting deadlines and prioritising work.
Ability to demonstrate a practical commitment to the values of Pride in London.

About Pride in London
Pride in London is wholly run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and any surplus funds we raise are used to support the LGBT+ communities and improve the event.
Pride in London includes people of every race and faith, whether disabled or able-bodied, and all sexualities and genders including lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, queer, questioning, intersex, trans*, genderqueer, gender variant or non-binary as well as straight and cis allies.
