Pride in London has a renewed sense of purpose to highlight the challenges still facing the LGBT+ community today despite progress. We are run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity and are drawn from all walks of life. Pride aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow all of our community to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing.
Around 150 people volunteer year-round to help us deliver what has become a world-class Pride. It is our intention for Pride in London to best represent all parts of our community and we continue to actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, particularly women, People of Colour and those from the trans and non-binary communities. As a Deputy People Director in conjunction with the People & Training Director you will lead the People function. People are at the heart of everything we do, this is not just a statement, this is what drives and shapes the work Pride in London do. You will share the same passion and commitment we have to delivering excellent services ensuring the People service provides high quality, timely advice and support. You will bring additional skills and qualities to enhance our team.
Role Responsibilities
You will work closely with senior leaders in Pride in London to support them in implementing the people transition plans, delivering operational performance, keeping people engaged and treating everyone fairly, transparently and with respect.
You will support the Director of People & Training in developing and delivering the people strategy, driving continuous service improvements and identifying appropriate mechanisms to address organizational needs in an agile way.
Who You Are
The successful candidate will be a committed team player with great people skills, able to work across boundaries and collaboratively both within the Volunteer Engagement function and more widely
Able to self-organise and show initiative to find new recruitment channels
Aware of Pride in London’s commitments to increasing diversity in its volunteering base and able to flex their approach to meet these requirements, working closely with Community Engagement to ensure visibility of vacancies in minority communities.
Roughly 5 hours a week including attending a Volunteer Engagement meeting (currently on Wednesday evenings bi-weekly) with occasional need to attend a Saturday morning meeting to present to other teams - invariably all roles rise in commitment in the run up to Pride

Our Culture
Our volunteers are driven and passionate about what they do. Putting on one of London's largest one-day events requires dedication and perseverance.
Although a lot of our work is completed remotely, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet with your team and others throughout the year to not only plan what's ahead but to socialise too.
We're looking for enthusiastic people to join the organisation so we can provide a platform for every part of London’s LGBT+ community.

Pride in London is wholly run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and any surplus funds we raise are used to support the LGBT+ communities and improve the event.
Pride in London includes people of every race and faith, whether disabled or able-bodied, and all sexualities and genders including lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, queer, questioning, intersex, trans*, genderqueer, gender variant or non-binary as well as straight and cis allies.
