2022 marked the 50th anniversary of Pride in the UK which was an historic milestone; it's now an exciting time to join Pride in London as a volunteer as we build for the future!
Pride in London has a renewed sense of purpose to highlight the challenges still facing the LGBT+ community today despite progress. We are run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity and are drawn from all walks of life. Pride aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow all of our community to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing.
Around 150 people volunteer year-round to help us deliver what has become a world-class Pride. It is our intention for Pride in London to best represent all parts of our community.
We continue to actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, particularly women, people of colour and those from the trans and non-binary communities.
This is an exciting volunteer opportunity reporting into the Director of People & Training this role is critical to the success of Pride in London. The successful candidate will be responsible for the recruitment and engagement of the on-the-day operational teams (stewards and fundraisers) that make Pride in London the globally recognised event that it has become.
Your Role
Drive recruitment to ensure provision of 1200+ stewards and fundraisers across Pride festival - this requires engaging our comms, community engagement and marketing teams and being creative and strategic in how we find new, diverse audiences
Work with other volunteering functions to track sign up levels
Provide demographic information on volunteer team
Attend required meetings with as part of the People & Training Team and occasional representation at Ops team meetings to ensure the they are fully informed of the current recruitment situation.
Your Profile
Previous recruitment experience at volume
Proven experience of developing and updating processes to support best practice and enable diverse recruitment
Enthusiastic, outgoing leader- able to communicate well face to face, excellent stakeholder engagement
Self-motivated and able to show initiative to meet the recruitment requirements of the organisation, bringing fresh ideas and working well with other teams - you will need to quickly navigate the organisation to engage with key stakeholders.

Pride in London is wholly run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and any surplus funds we raise are used to support the LGBT+ communities and improve the event.
