2022 marks the 50th anniversary of Pride in the UK which makes it an exciting time to join Pride in London as a volunteer as we plan for the future!
Pride in London has a renewed sense of purpose to highlight the challenges still facing the LGBT+ community today despite progress. We are run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity and are drawn from all walks of life. Pride aims to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow all of our community to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing.
Around 150 people volunteer year-round to help us deliver what has become a world-class Pride. It is our intention for Pride in London to best represent all parts of our community.
We continue to actively encourage applications from diverse backgrounds, particularly women, people of colour and those from the trans and non-binary communities.
The role:
We’re looking for a new Head of Research to support Pride in London through developing a greater understanding of the communities we serve and measure the impact of Pride in London on the London economy and London LGBTQ+ communities.
You’ll manage our research programme and play a leading strategic role in realising our ambitious research strategy.
Working with research partners you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing an annual community survey and Pride impact assessment.
You’ll help build and lead a research team to support the research need of Pride in London and our partners.
Transform data into insight through excellent storytelling, critical thinking, and curiosity
You’ll have experience of research, qualitative and quantitative techniques
Actively help shape and deliver our research innovation and capability-building plans.
What you’ll bring to the role
A proven track record in marketing at a senior level, preferably including experience of working with LGBTQ audiences and ideally with a broad base of experience across different types of media and activation.
Balance a strategic outlook with creative vision as will be passionate about diversity and inclusion.
Demonstrate a strong understanding of the aims of Pride in London and the needs of LGBTQ audiences and the implications of these for developing effective, impactful marketing campaigns.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Strong analytical and numerical skills.
Committed approach to spending 2 to 4 hours per week on this role, rising as we approach the the event day.

Our volunteers are driven and passionate about what they do. Putting on one of London's largest one-day events requires dedication and perseverance.
Although a lot of our work is completed remotely, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet with your team and others throughout the year to not only plan what's ahead but to socialise too.

About Pride in London
Pride in London is wholly run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and any surplus funds we raise are used to support the LGBT+ communities and improve the event.
Pride in London includes people of every race and faith, whether disabled or able-bodied, and all sexualities and genders including lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, queer, questioning, intersex, trans*, genderqueer, gender variant or non-binary as well as straight and cis allies.
