This is Pride in London

Pride in London is wholly run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and any surplus funds we raise are used to support the LGBTQ community and improve the event. Together, we run the UK’s biggest, most diverse pride, and around the year we make sure we provide a platform for every part of London’s LGBT+ community (lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans*, queer, questioning, intersex, non-binary, asexual, polysexual, genderqueer and gender variant people) to raise awareness of LGBT+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow them to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing. Pride in London includes people of every race and faith, whether disabled or able-bodied, and all sexualities and genders including lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, queer, questioning, intersex, trans*, genderqueer, gender variant or non-binary as well as straight and cis allies. Over 200 people volunteer year-round to help us deliver what has become a world-class Pride. We are already a pretty diverse bunch, but we are looking to add to our diversity and are especially keen to receive applications from the BAME, Trans, Bi, Non-binary and Queer communities. Gender equality is always a key consideration for us.

Your new team 

Our organisation is home to over 200 year-round volunteers with another 1000 supporting us on the day of Pride. The Volunteer Engagement directorate has responsibility of recruiting, training and taking care of the wellbeing of our volunteers. IT @ Pride in London is a newly formed team, within the Volunteer Engagement directorate, taking ownership of technical properties for the entire organisation. The team is responsible for the security, maintenance and ongoing improvement of both internal services (e.g email, tools) and external services (e.g brand accounts and domains) working across all teams to provide guidance, training and support in IT related matters. The team fosters a culture of shared responsibility, decisions are made by members of the team and other stakeholders as part of small, focussed working groups.

Your new Volunteer Role

Internal Manager -

● Chair of the Internal IT Working Group
● Responsibility for management of internal facing IT tools (G suite, knowledgebase,
directory and CRM)
● Work closely with all IT functions and interface with organisational stakeholders
● Lead the internal support and help desk
● Lead organisation wide training and awareness initiatives

External Manager -

● Set up and Chair the external IT working group
● Responsible for the technical maintenance of external properties (e.g DNS, SSL
certificates, hosted software)
● Point of contact for external vendors requiring integration into Pride in London systems
● Maintain the brand account management system, alongside Security Manager
● Advise teams on tooling

Who you are:

External Manager -

● Experience in routine webmastering and system administration tasks

● Eager to learn / adapt to new challenges

● Comfortable representing the interests of Pride in London whilst interacting with third


● This is a role that requires long-term commitment. Time required will be 4-6 hours per
week with regular (remote) meetings within working groups.

Internal Manager -

● Experience in support / help desk
● Experience in application management (e.g g suite)
● Strong written skills
● Good communication and leadership skills
● Be comfortable engaging with senior stakeholders, business owners and managers and
people you’ve never met before.
● This is a role that requires long-term commitment. Time required will be 4-6 hours per
week with regular (remote) meetings within working groups.

Although a lot of our work is completed remotely, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet with your team and others throughout the year to not only plan what's ahead but to socialise too.
