Your Pride In London

Pride in London means many things to many people, it belongs to our community and it belongs to you; come and join the conversation. Forty-six years since the first Pride march in London, Pride in London has a renewed sense of purpose to highlight the challenges still facing the LGBT+ community today despite progress. We are run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity and are drawn from all walks of life; together we pull off the UK’s biggest free LGBTQ+ community event every year. Pride aims to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow all of our community to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing. Around 150 people volunteer year-round to help us deliver what has become a world-class Pride. We welcome applications from everybody, and are especially keen to attract new volunteers from the BAME, Trans, Bi, Non-binary and Queer communities who we would love to see more widely represented in our organisation.

Your new team
Pride in London’s marketing team is formed of a group of passionate individuals who give up their time to promote the campaigns, brand and products of Pride in London. Pride in London is known for its award-winning campaigns like #PrideMatters #nofilter, #freedomto and #lovehappenshere, and the people taking on roles in Marketing will take on the task of delivering future campaigns and strategies that reflect the diversity of all of London, LGBT+ communities, and that build our reputation and relevance on a national and international scale. Our marketing is issue-led, informed by research within our community, and the team will work together to shape this work. The team comprises Campaigns, Brand, Events, Media, Digital and Insight – all feeding into Pride in London’s reason for existing: to continue to fight for true equality and challenge prejudices that the LGBT+ community still face on a daily basis.

Your new volunteer role
Pride in London is recruiting for an Insight Manager. This role is new but comes at a time when it is more important than ever for the organisation to be listening to the LGBT+ community. With your help we can uncover the insight we need to inform and continually improve our work, influencing our projects, campaigns, communications, events and partnerships.  As Insight Manager you will be responsible for refining how we measure and report the impact of our work, as well as monitoring the experiences of the LGBT+
community in their contact with Pride in London, in turn helping to shape the future strategy and campaigns of Pride in London.

Specifically, you will be responsible for planning and delivering our annual Impact Report, conducting qualitative and quantitative research to inform our theme and campaigns, running workshops with volunteers and stakeholders, taking and analysing insight from our website and app, and managing any research which helps to prove to impact Pride in London delivers to its partners. This position requires skills in both quantitative and qualitative research. While most candidates will be stronger in one rather than the other, you must have sufficient background to do both to a professional standard.

More specifically, the Insight Manager’s role will include the following responsibilities:
 Designing and managing effective and scientifically robust evaluation methods
 Commissioning and managing external (pro bono) agencies as required, ensuring that their work in support of Pride in London is of the highest standards.
 Contributing to writing and publishing reports such as our Impact Report or Pride Matters Report.
 Keeping abreast of the latest research evidence and concepts relevant to Pride in London’s campaigns and communicating trends and new ideas across the organisation

Who you are
As Pride in London’s Insight Manager you will have:
 Skills in both quantitative and qualitative research
 Strong knowledge and experience of consumer experience approaches, best practice and platforms
 Excellent writing skills, with the ability to draft surveys, discussion guides, analysis and research reports
 Strong communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage others, and to build their knowledge
 Excellent project management and planning skills

This is an exciting role for someone who is passionate about the voice of the LGBT+ community being heard all the way up to board level. This role creates opportunities for someone to find sparks of community and supporter insights in order to inform Pride in London’s cause, brand, products and fundraising. This individual will be in a strong
position to help Pride in London unlock a deeper relationship with the community, increase our fundraising potential and identify key insights to ensure the best relationship between Pride in London and the people we serve.

This volunteer role will require around six hours of your time each week, but because of the nature of the position there will be peaks and troughs. Unlike many other volunteer roles, the time commitment will increase after Pride in London has happened, with the Impact Report being delivered between July and September.

What you’ll get joining Pride in London
 A friendly and welcoming induction course and a variety of training that’s offered throughout the year
 An opportunity to get new and relevant professional experience
 A chance to broaden your professional network
 Play an important part in delivering the Pride in London event

Our Culture

Our volunteers are driven and passionate about what they do. Putting on one of London's largest one-day events requires dedication and perseverance.

Although a lot of our work is completed remotely, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet with your team and others throughout the year to not only plan what's ahead but to socialise too.

We're looking for enthusiastic people to join the organisation so we can provide a platform for every part of London’s LGBT+ community.
