Our Pride In London 

Pride in London means many things to many people, it belongs to our community and it belongs to you; come and join the conversation!

Forty-six years since the first Pride march in London, Pride in London has a renewed sense of purpose to highlight the challenges still facing the LGBT+ community today despite progress. We are run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity and are drawn from all walks of life; together we pull off the UK’s biggest free LGBTQ+ community event every year. Pride aims to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow all of our community to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing.

Around 150 people volunteer year-round to help us deliver what has become a world-class Pride. We welcome applications from everybody, and are especially keen to attract new volunteers from the BAME, Trans, Bi, Non-binary and Queer communities who we would love to see more widely represented in our organisation.

Main Responsibilities


  • Reporting to and working closely with the Head of Social, developing the ever-evolving strategy and delivering this through the team
  • Manage and support up to 4 direct reports, each responsible for certain content pillars in the social strategy, ensuring effective social-first content is delivered.
  • Driving creative ideas with your direct reports and providing constructive feedback where needed
  • Liaison with other teams across Pride in London whose activities require social media support, advising them of the best social output in line with the strategy and then sharing this with your direct reports to action
  • Ensure that direct reports meet deadlines and support where needed to manage projects if a time management situation arises
  • Deliver a monthly social media report as well as regular updates to the Deputy and Head of Social
  • Contribute to and help drive our community management and channel engagement strategy 

 Technical Requirements/ Knowledge

  • Knowledge and proven experience of managing and delivering an always on content plan
  • Exceptional knowledge of best practices across Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Snapchat and Pinterest
  • Understanding of digital campaigns and the role that social media plays from an organic and paid perspective 

Soft skills 

  • Proven skills in the use of content management and engagement management systems 
  • The ability to develop creative and engaging content ideas and bring them to life through the team 
  • Attention to detail in all work is a given and must be apparent in the work of direct reports 
  • The ability to be flexible and adapt to the constant changes in a large organisation with some outputs requiring more urgency and quicker decisions
  • Ability to drive positivity within the team even at times when workloads may be h

Desirable skills or experience

  • Experience of managing direct reports
  • Experience in stakeholder management 


  • 5 years experience in the social media management, content and communications 
  • 1-2 years minimum experience as a Senior Social Media Manager looking after direct reports 


This is a role that requires long-term commitment. Time required will vary week by week, and team members will be able to share the workload. On average, you can expect the post to take 20 hours minimum per month.

All work is carried out at home, although we will require attendance at regular Communications Team Meetings (usually on a Saturday morning in central London
