If you're a designer who lives and breathe user-centred design, then this could be the role for you. We're after designers to join the Digital team who are passionate about inclusivity and accessibility to help us serve the LGBTQ+ community better.

Over the past few years we've created our own bespoke website and app from the ground up. Now that we've got a great foundation to build on, we're beginning to test and experiment with new ideas. We want to create new products to help support our community year round, but we can't do that without input from design.

The Digital team is focused on understanding our user needs and behaviours so that we can build the right solutions to solve their problems. Whether that's a year round events platform or this very volunteer application site, we create and evolve it, making sure that it is beautiful, accessible and delightful to use.

In this role you'll be:

  • Supporting our insights team in UI/UX and usability research
  • Creating AA accessible designs and testing these with users
  • Working with our Tech team to solve design problems in efficient ways
  • Helping to evolve the Pride in London Digital brand

What you get out of it:

  • To experiment with new software and/or design methodologies
  • Peer review of your work from other designers to help you upskill and improve your work
  • The chance to take part in and learn about areas of the design system you've less experience in e.g. usability testing
  • The opportunity to evolve a design system for the second largest event in London
  • Develop skills working with other departments, managing and mentorship others, and working within a product team.

How much time we need:

Each week you'll usually spend between 4-8 hours on Pride work. This includes a mixture of catchups, meetings and actual work. Depending on the projects we have on the go some weeks will be busier than others, but we know everyone has full time jobs and social lives so try to give plenty of notice of what's coming up.

We don't count it as Pride time, but the Digital team are a pretty social team and get together when we can for fun too.

Or, know someone who would be a perfect fit? Let them know!

Our Culture

Our volunteers are driven and passionate about what they do. Putting on one of London's largest one-day events requires dedication and perseverance.

Although a lot of our work is completed remotely, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet with your team and others throughout the year to not only plan what's ahead but to socialise too.

We're looking for enthusiastic people to join the organisation so we can provide a platform for every part of London’s LGBT+ community.
