Your Pride in London

Pride in London (PiL) means many things to many people, it belongs to our community and it belongs to you; come and join the conversation! Forty-six years since the first Pride march in London, Pride in London has a renewed sense of purpose to highlight the challenges still facing the LGBT+ community today despite progress. We are run by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity and are drawn from all walks of life; together we pull off the UK’s biggest free LGBTQ+ community event every year. Pride aims to raise awareness of LGBTQ+ issues and campaign for the freedoms that will allow all our community to live their lives on a genuinely equal footing. Around 150 people volunteer year-round to help us deliver what has become a world-class Pride. We welcome applications from everybody and are especially keen to attract new volunteers from the BAME, Trans, Bi, Non-binary and Queer communities who we would love to see more widely represented in our organisation.

Your new team

Strategic Partnerships is the team responsible for Pride in London’s income generation in relation to all corporate partnership’s deals. The team as a collective help to generate new business, negotiate contracts and then manage that relationship throughout its tenure. A lot of the partnership’s benefits relate specifically to the day itself but additional activation throughout the year is key to the activation’s success. Specific activation within each partnership can include but isn’t limited to, on the day branding, social media posts, logo/ website management, marketing campaign management and parade/ event logistics. Other events and partnerships such as the Gala, Pride run, and Pride in the City form a much bigger portfolio that the team also oversee. We make sure all companies go through a rigorous ethical process to ensure the partnership activation is requested with the right intentions.

Your new volunteer role

The kind of activities you will be doing day to day include:

  • Working closely with other teams to negotiate any issues
  • Ensuring the agreed timelines are met both from the client and Pride in London perspective to prevent any delay and ensure the partnership activation can be as successful as possible

  • To keep in regular contact with the Account Manager where necessary to clarify any points agreed

Our Culture

Our volunteers are driven and passionate about what they do. Putting on one of London's largest one-day events requires dedication and perseverance.

Although a lot of our work is completed remotely, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet with your team and others throughout the year to not only plan what's ahead but to socialise too.

We're looking for enthusiastic people to join the organisation so we can provide a platform for every part of London’s LGBT+ community.
