Our incredible team is a blend of passionate staff and volunteers who champion diversity, inclusivity, and understanding. We hail from diverse walks of life, forming a vibrant community of change-makers. Our ultimate goal? To amplify awareness of LGBTQ+ matters and advocate for the rights that ensure equal lives for all.
With a diverse and dedicated year-round team of around 150 volunteers, we orchestrate Pride in London, the incredible event that unites us all. Your unique voice can contribute to the symphony!

Role Overview:
In this hands-on role as the Director of People & Culture at Pride in London, you'll champion our vibrant volunteer community. Your role is pivotal in nurturing our people, shaping our culture, and ensuring our volunteers feel valued, supported, and empowered. You'll lead strategies that enhance the volunteer experience, foster inclusivity, and bring our organisation's values to life.
Your Responsibilities:
Develop people-centred strategies that resonate with our volunteer community, gaining support from all levels of the organisation.
Create and maintain clear, accessible policies that support our volunteers and align with Pride in London's mission.
Oversee volunteer recruitment, training, and recognition, ensuring a rewarding journey for everyone involved with Pride in London.
Be the go-to person for volunteer matters, creating an environment where volunteers can thrive and contribute meaningfully.
Guide the evolution of Pride in London's culture, embedding our values in everything we do.
Develop and champion initiatives that celebrate diversity and promote inclusion throughout our volunteer community.
Prioritise volunteer well-being, considering physical, mental, and social aspects in your planning.
Collaborate with fellow Directors, offering insights on volunteer engagement and cultural development.
Ensure accessibility and sustainability are key considerations in all our plans and activities.
Lead and inspire the People Team, fostering a supportive and motivated group.
Advise the Chief Executive on people-related matters, acting as a strategic partner.
What you’ll bring to the role:
Experience in leading and coordinating large groups of employees or volunteers.
Strong understanding of volunteer management principles and best practices.
Proven track record in creating inclusive, diverse environments and implementing effective D&I initiatives.
Demonstrated experience in developing and delivering training programmes for employees or volunteers.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels of the organisation.
A leadership style that inspires positive change and nurtures organisational culture.
Passion for Pride in London's mission and the LGBTQ+ community.

Our Culture
Our volunteers are driven and passionate about what they do. Putting on one of London's largest one-day events requires dedication and perseverance.
Although a lot of our work is completed remotely, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet with your team and others throughout the year to not only plan what's ahead but to socialise too.
We're looking for enthusiastic people to join the organisation so we can provide a platform for every part of London’s LGBTQ+ community.
About Pride in London
Pride in London is run in majority by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and any surplus funds we raise are used to support the LGBTQ+ communities and improve the event.
Pride in London includes people of every race and faith, whether disabled or able-bodied, and all sexualities and genders including lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, queer, questioning, intersex, trans*, genderqueer, gender variant or non-binary as well as straight and cis allies.
