Your role
The role of ‘Parade Route - Team Lead’ will be our lead volunteer in charge of overseeing the Parade Route on the day including the safety of participants and spectators. This hands-on role will see you working across a multitude of internal and external stakeholders.
Please be aware that this role is an ‘all year round’ role and therefore there will be time required from you before and after the event. As a minimum we expect this to be 4 hours a week however this will likely increase from April-July. This role also requires you to be available on July 5th for Pride
Your Responsibilities
Main point of contact for Event Control for Parade route related events on the day
Oversee and lead a team of volunteer stewards and supervisors
Provide training for ‘on-the-day volunteers’ such as supervisors
Attend briefings and team meetings as required
Lead point of contact for public and participants for general information, dealing with lost children/property/first aid enquiries and liaising with Event Control
Liaising and working with external security teams to ensure safe crowd control and assisting with the management of crossing points along the parade route
Raising awareness of any issues regarding set up before parade
Ensuring the parade keeps moving to time

Experience of outdoor event management is desirable or a willingness to learn

Pride in London is run in majority by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and any surplus funds we raise are used to support the LGBTQ+ communities and improve the event.
