With a diverse and dedicated year-round team of around 150 volunteers, we orchestrate Pride in London, the incredible event that unites us all. Your unique voice can contribute to the symphony!

In this hands-on role as the Deputy Director: Recruitment and Process within People & Culture at Pride in London, you'll champion our vibrant volunteer community while overseeing our recruitment, onboarding, and HR functions. Leading a team of volunteer specialists, you'll develop strategic approaches to attract, welcome, and support everyone within Pride in London, ensuring our organisational values are embedded in everything we do. This pivotal position directly contributes to creating an inclusive and dynamic Pride community.
Your Responsibilities
Lead our recruitment strategy, overseeing both All Year Round and On the Day recruitment teams to ensure we attract diverse talent aligned with our values.
Develop and implement streamlined onboarding processes that welcome volunteers effectively and set them up for success from day one.
Oversee the HR & Policy Advisor to establish best practices in volunteer management, ensuring compliance and creating a supportive framework.
Champion process improvements across the volunteer journey, from application through to exit, creating consistent and positive experiences.
Build effective systems to measure volunteer satisfaction and engagement, using insights to continuously enhance our approach.
Support both staff and volunteers with clear guidance, resources, and development opportunities that empower them in their roles.
Ensure our organisational values are embedded in all recruitment and people processes, creating an inclusive culture where everyone can thrive.

What you'll bring to Pride in London
Experience in developing and implementing recruitment strategies for large groups of volunteers (Essential)
Strong understanding of onboarding processes and best practices for volunteer engagement (Essential)
Knowledge of HR policies and procedures within a volunteer organisation (Desirable)
Proven track record in process improvement and systems development (Essential)
Experience managing teams or coordinating multiple workstreams simultaneously (Essential)
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders (Essential)
Experience with volunteer management software or recruitment platforms (Desirable)
Previous experience in coordinating large-scale event volunteer recruitment (Desirable)
Passion for Pride in London's mission and the LGBTQ+ community (Essential)

Our Culture
Our volunteers are driven and passionate about what they do. Putting on one of London's largest one-day events requires dedication and perseverance.
Although a lot of our work is completed remotely, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet with your team and others throughout the year to not only plan what's ahead but to socialise too.
We're looking for enthusiastic people to join the organisation so we can provide a platform for every part of London’s LGBTQ+ community.

Pride in London is run in majority by a group of volunteers who are passionate about equality and diversity. We are a not-for-profit organisation, and any surplus funds we raise are used to support the LGBTQ+ communities and improve the event.
Pride in London includes people of every race and faith, whether disabled or able-bodied, and all sexualities and genders including lesbian, gay, bisexual, asexual, queer, questioning, intersex, trans*, genderqueer, gender variant or non-binary as well as straight and cis allies.
